You have to understand that, which habit builds in you from more than 10-15 years you can not stop that suddenly. Your mind refuses to do that task. You should take small steps to take a new habit and leave a bad habit. If you have fear of public speaking you have time to overcome fear of public speaking, it’s not so easy for anyone.

If your first goal in weight loss is you have to avoid junk food. Then you can shift on green and healthy food. Then you can do exercise or walk for a mile. You can take these kind of small steps which will help you to maintain a discipline in yourself because,

If you want to improve your English or you want to improve your communication skill you have to work for at least 3 months to see a positive result.

when you take small steps your mind gradually takes all those small steps which go to your main goal of weight loss or anything else.

2. Sleep Early Woke up Early

When your morning alarm rings, you snooze that alarm or you wake up, that small thing decides your future because, if you win your morning you will win your day. One of the best ways to discipline yourself is to win your morning and evening routine.

Man want to stop clock

You have to maintain that discipline in yourself to wake up early in the morning at least 5 or 5:30 am. Before sleep, set a To-Do list for the next day about what you have to do tomorrow. These things save your time from wasting in the morning, “what should I do today”. or “what should I do first”.

When you sleep early you will woke up early, when you woke up early you have much more time from other to up skill yourself. You can work on your skills or your health.

You have to maintain discipline in your sleeping routine. In the initial days you feel uncomfortable but, after a few weeks this becomes your habit. Discipline comes from starting your day. If you manage your starting day you will discipline yourself in a few weeks.

3.  Stop Procrastinating Work

One of the biggest problems you face while discipline yourself is procrastination. We just avoid all types of work including important work. We just procrastinated all day. To get rid of this we can use the ‘2 min rule’.

In the 2 min rule we have to do all tasks which take a maximum of two minutes. These rules help us to do small tasks which we just avoid because they are so small but, after a few times they become big tasks for us.

To discipline and overcome procrastination, you can break your work in small parts according to you. When you break a task in small steps you can easily do that task because,

Now you just have to focus and complete the smallest task and one by one when you finish your last task, you finish your work which is so easy but seems so tough.

You can also finish all your tough work in the morning, which is the best time to finish all work. Just get up early in the morning and one by one complete all your tasks.

4. Avoid all Distractions

Whenever we want to do something, one thing which always gets in our way of self discipline is Distractions. Distraction stops improving your memory power. Mobile, addictions, sleeping, eating they all are distractions.

We have to get rid of all these distractions. When you overcome distraction you will increase your concentration power also. For that we can switch off our phones while we do productive or important work. For addictions like cigarettes or alcohol we have to throw it into the dustbin. If you see them we will feel urges to take them.

For eating we have to work on our self control. If we eat healthy food knowing that, what are we eating and what should we avoid eating? So only we can control our eating habits.

For sleep we have to manage our sleep cycle. Sleep on time and wake on time help us to discipline ourselves. When you control them you have more control on your emotions like you can easily control your anger issues because they are connected with each other.

5. Set Higher Goals in Life

What is the purpose of your life? You know we automatically discipline if we have goals in our life. If we set goals in life where you can see yourself after 4-5 years you will work for that goal. If you don’t have a goal now you can read books on self improvement. which helps you to find your goal in life.

Man enjoy his goal of climbing

When you clearly imagine in your career that, “after 5 years I will make 1 lakhs per month”, you automatically work for your dream because you really want to achieve that goal. You can feel that confidence in your body language which is more confident now.

For that you can set a list of goals like, where do you want to reach after one year, one month, and one week . Now you just have to focus on your day. Do your all important tasks everyday, set your priorities. These help you to discipline yourself also and,

When you complete your weekly goals you will increase your confidence and that increases your motivation which makes you more disciplined in your life.

6. Give Reward to yourself

When you complete a task or you achieve something don’t forget to give a reward to yourself. If you want to become an IAS officer and you score good marks in any kind of exam related to it. You have to reward yourself because,

Reward yourself when you discipline

When you reward yourself your mind produces a feel good hormone dopamine. Dopamine hormone increases your motivation which gives you the same or one level up work like this. You will work for that same feeling or one level up that increases your discipline.

You can discipline yourself by rewarding yourself. This is the easiest way to be disciplined in life because, when you do something which makes you happy you want to repeat that same feeling and you will work for that feeling anyhow. Those achievements increase your self-discipline journey.
